Call for proposals

The next meeting of the GANIL Program Advisory Committee (PAC) will take place on the 1st and 2nd of July 2021 remotelyHenceforth there will be two meetings of the PAC per year.

This call is open for experimental proposals to be performed at the GANIL cyclotrons experimental vaults and SPIRAL2/NFS facility.

The deadline for submission of the proposals is April 26th 2021 (14:00 CET).

The cyclotrons will be available for experiments starting from February 2022 and the NFS facility will be available for experiments starting from June 2022. This call relates to proposals ready to run in 2022.

GANIL will host the PARIS array in the first half of 2022.

Proposals for experiments in the D6 experimental hall are required to be compatible to run as a campaign and coordinated as such, among the spokespersons, contact persons and scientific coordinators, prior to the proposal submission. All proposals for the experimental halls, other than D6, are not subject to restrictions.

Proposals for the NFS facility need to consider specific characteristics available on the NFS Web page of the GANIL website.

The submission of experimental proposals to GANIL PAC should follow the procedure below:

  1. Prior to the proposal submission, you are requested to communicate with the equipment scientific coordinators (see list below)
  2. The proposal should be submitted to GANIL via online submission using the following web form
  3. The spokesperson will be notified of the validity of the proposal by email from the GANIL Beam Coordinator, before May 3rd 2021.
  4. Each collaborator must confirm before submission of the proposal form that they have read the proposal and have agreed to participate in the experiment.
  5. Spokespersons and all collaborators are required to subscribe as members of the GANIL User Community (GUC). To become a member, please register at

Should you encounter any problems please contact the beam coordinator

Important Note: Accepted proposals are valid for a three-year period and can be scheduled at any time during this period. Beyond this period the validity of the physics case has to be reevaluated by the PAC independently of the reasons for its non-realization.

Useful dates:

  • The dead line for the proposal submission is April 26th2021 (14:00 CET)
  • The dates of the PAC meeting to be held are the 1st and 2nd of July 2021.
