GANIL invites photographers to discover the LINAC and SPIRAL2 ion sources

GANIL takes part in the “Global Physics Photowalk 2025” international photography competition, coordinated by the Interactions collaboration.

On 20 May, GANIL will open the doors of SPIRAL2’s LINAC to professional and amateur photographers. LINAC is a new-generation superconducting linear accelerator. Thanks to the associated high-performance ion sources, this unique facility can accelerate ion beams with record intensity, for a wide range of research: the synthesis of new types of elements, super-heavy elements or the production of very rare isotopes that provide access to the secrets of the nuclear interaction that binds matter together.
