Master students day

Every year, we organize an open campus day for Master students to present our activities, the facility and our PhD proposals. Registration is necessary.

The next edition is scheduled on Saturday the 21th of November 2020.

Should the health conditions worsen, we will organize this day by videoconference.

9:15 Introductory presentation on GANIL
10:30 Visit of the facilities
12:30 Lunch
13:45 PhD fair or presentations on the physics at GANIL
16:00 Departure


Students coming from far away can stay in our guest house that is open 24 hours a day. We cover the cost.


To register, please send a mail to David Boilley (, at least a week before, with

– your name
– your university
– arrival and departure time
If you need a room at the guest house, please mention it in the mail.


It takes 2 hours by train to reach Caen from Paris (St Lazare station). Bus station is next to the train station.
Once in Caen, take Tram T2 to the direction of ‘Campus 2’. Tram station is at the North exit of the train station. If you arrive by bus, you will have to cross the train station. Tickets are available at the tram station and the travel takes about 20 minutes.
Get out at stop ‘Côte de Nacre’. Entrance of GANIL is just before the stop, towards the East. Check the map.
