Research at CENS: nuclear structure near the proton dripline and detector development

Xesus PEREIRA-LOPEZ (Center for Exotic Nuclear Studies, Daejeon, South Korea)

In order to fully exploit radioactive ion beam (RIB) facilities and in particular the new accelerator facility RAON built in Korea, a large amount of effort was devoted at the Center for Exotic Nuclear Studies (CENS) to design and develop nuclear detection instruments such as AToM-X Active Target TPC, STARK and STARKJr silicon telescope arrays and ASGARD HPGe detector array, among others. In addition, CENS is leading a in-beam spectroscopy program aiming to further extend our knowledge on the nuclear structure of proton-rich nuclei. In this talk, the detector development efforts at CENS will be presented and the latest results and future projects from the in-beam spectroscopy program will also be discussed.
