Véronique Lacoste (IRSN/PSE-SANTE/SDOS/LMDN Cadarache, France)
The LMDN (Laboratory of micro-irradiation, neutron metrology and dosimetry) owns, develops and maintains several facilities producing neutron reference fields to meet the calibration needs of neutron measuring instruments, particularly for radiation protection, but also in the context of neutron metrology as, through LMDN, IRSN is Designated Laboratory from the National Metrology Institute (LNE) for this activity. To characterize the neutron fields, in the Laboratory but also for measurements at workplaces, the LMDN develops and uses different neutron spectrometers. Some of these spectrometers are dedicated to the neutron metrology in the laboratory, and some others, are specifically developed for on-site measurements, covering neutron energy range from the thermal region up to several hundreds of MeV.
An overview of the neutron facilities and the measurements capabilities will be given, with some examples of neutron spectrometry campaigns at workplaces.
