The ALTO research platform at the Laboratoire de physique des 2 infinis Irène Joliot Curie (IJCLab) is dedicated to a wide range of nuclear physics, nuclear astrophysics and interdisciplinary activities. The low-energy part of ALTO (ALTO-LEB) can produce radioactive beams by photofission and stable beams at 30 keV. The ionization at the source is done by surface ionization or laser ionization.
A mass spectrometer based on a double Penning trap (MLLTRAP) coupled with a RadioFrequency Cooler and Buncher (RFQCB) is currently being installed at ALTO-LEB. In order to characterize the source at ALTO-LEB and study the beam transport in the transfer lines to MLLTRAP, a campaign of emittance measurements was performed with a stable beam produced by surface ionization. The first results of the data analysis from the emittance measurements and a status of MLLTRAP will be presented.
