After discussing the search for CP violation beyond the Standard Model through atomic and molecular electric dipole moments, I review the argument that for CP violation coming from the nucleus, the quantity that induces these dipole moments is the nuclear Schiff moment. I then review existing calculations of Schiff moments in several important nuclei and discuss work in progress, both in nuclear DFT and in ab initio schemes, to improve the accuracy of the calculations.
