Characterisation of the double Penning trap PIPERADE

Penning traps are very powerful tools to measure the mass of the atomic nuclei. Indeed, most of the masses that are known today were measured with such a device. In this seminar I will explain the different optimisation steps that are needed to improve the mass measurement precision. I will particularly focus on PIPERADE (PIèges de PEnning pour les RAdionucléides à DESIR) that we are currently commissionning in LP2i Bordeaux.
