In recent years laser spectroscopy for studying the ground and isomeric state properties of exotic nuclei has consolidated as a versatile and powerful tool. Part of this achievement is owed to the possibility of having available narrow-bandwidth, high power, pulsed laser sources. During this short seminar we are going to travel through the basic ideas behind the Titanium-sapphire (Ti:Sa) laser systems currently used at GISELE and that will be implemented at the online setup at S3-LEB.
