Partnerships
SPIRAL2 is the result of the technical and scientific teamwork established between several French, European and international laboratories.
SPIRAL2 is funded by the Institut National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules (National Institute for Nuclear and Particle Physics) (IN2P3), which depends on the CNRS, the Direction des Sciences de la Matière (Department of Matter Sciences) (DSM), which depends on the CEA, the Region and local authorities of Basse-Normandie, and is also supported by the European Union, through the European project 'SPIRAL2 Preparatory Phase', and by international collaborations.
| SPIRAL2 is the national priority project of the CNRS and CEA in terms of nuclear physics. The originators of the project include the following French institutions: CNRS, with 10 laboratories belonging to IN2P3, namely, CENBG in Bordeaux, Subatech in Nantes, LPC in Caen, CSNSM, IPNO, LAL and LPNHE in Orsay, IPHC in Strasbourg, IPNL in Lyon and LPSC in Grenoble; CEA, with several departments of the IRFU institute, itself a part of the DSM division in Saclay, and the DAM division in Bruyères Le Châtel; GANIL in Caen. Other departments of the CEA and CNRS laboratories will contribute their expertise and support, in particular in the field of nuclear safety and in the development of the scientific program. |
Many international collaborative agreements (Memoranda of Understanding - MoU) have already been signed or are under preparation. The countries concerned include, in particular, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Israel, United States, India, Japan, China, Spain and Canada.
