Europe
The European Commission has been one of GANIL's privileged partners for many years, through its funding of cutting-edge scientific projects.
GANIL collaborates with the European Commission by way of its participation in the management of several scientific projects, through collaborations which involve many laboratories from the European Union and beyond.
Nowadays, under the 7th Framework Programme (FP7 - 2007 to 2013), GANIL coordinates two projects - SPIRAL2 PP and ENSAR - and participates in CRISP and in LA3-NET.
In 2006, the ESFRI forum, which supervises the strategy in terms of European research infrastructures, selected SPIRAL2 as a priority project.
Bilateral Agreements
Within the framework of the SPIRAL2 project, bilateral agreements (Memoranda of Understanding - MoU) have been signed between GANIL and the following laboratories:
Associated laboratories
An associated European laboratory is a "laboratory without premises", enabling a team of French researchers to work jointly with a team of foreign researchers on a given project.
In 2008, GANIL created two Associated European Laboratories (AEL), the INFN (Italy) and the COPIN (Poland) and, in 2011, with NPI (Czech Republic).
